an adolescent girl having intermittent episodes of loud crying of recent onset and it is not preceded by any physical or mental trauma otherwise her thought content or thought process is normal she never had similar problems in past. on examination there is no focal deficit. it is associated aura like symptoms in the form of bodyache and excessive yawning. her maternal grandmother had exactly same problem went undiagnosed as no medical care was sought. grand mother is now episode free after suffering for about 25 year and treatment by sadhubabas.what could be the differential diagnosis_?_? does it relate to seizure disorder_?_?

Rule out a seizure disorder and also a pseudoseizure. Since there is an aura and also a family history, seizure disorder should be ruled out. A video EEG would be useful.
