Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate

Indication :
- HIV infection
- Chronic Hepatitis B
Dosing :
HIV Infection:
2-12 years: 8 mg/kg orally once a day, Maximum: 300 mg/day.
>12 years: 300 mg OD.
Chronic Hepatitis B:
≥12 years, ≥35 kg: 300 mg orally once a day.
The optimum duration of treatment is not known.
Adverse Effect :
Asthenia, diarrhea, nausea, pain, anorexia, depression, myalgia, peripheral neuropathy, dyspepsia, rash, headache, vomiting, flatulence, abdominal pain, neutropenia, increased transaminases, new onset or worsening renal impairment, lactic acidosis, decreased bone mineral density.

Hepatic Dose :
No dose adjustment recommended. Use cautiously in patients with liver disease due to risk of hepatotoxicity.
