Laronidase

Mechanism :

Laronidase is a recombinant (replacement) form of alpha-L-iduronidase derived from Chinese hamster cells.


Indication :

  • Mucopolysaccharidosis I (Hurler syndrome, Hurler-Scheie, and Scheie forms)

Contraindications :

Severe hypersensitivity to laronidase or any component of the formulation.


Dosing :

Infants ≥6 months
IV:
0.58 mg/kg once weekly.

Adverse Effect :

Flushing, venous irritations, chills, skin rash, antibody development, injection site reaction, otitis media, infusion related reactions, hypertension, chest pain, headache, pallor, thrombocytopenia, hyperbilirubinemia, tremor.


Interaction :

No known significant interactions.



Hepatic Dose :

No dose adjustments are recommended.
