Fluorescein Sodium

Mechanism :

The yellowish-green fluorescence of the product demarcates the vascular area under observation, distinguishing it from adjacent areas.


Indication :

  • Diagnostic fluorescein angiography
  • Diagnosis of corneal abrasions, corneal ulcers and herpetic corneal infections

Contraindications :

Contraindicated in those persons who have shown hypersensitivity to any component of this preparation.


Dosing :

For angiography:
35 mg for each ten pounds of body weight.

Adverse Effect :

Contraindicated in those persons who have shown hypersensitivity to any component of this preparation.

Nausea and headache, syncope, hypotension, vomiting, gastrointestinal distress, hypersensitivity (hives, itching, bronchospasm anaphylaxis), cardiac arrest, severe shock, convulsions, basilar artery ischemia, thrombophlebitis at the injection site.


Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustment is recommended.
