Cromoglycate

Indication :

  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Asthma
  • Food allergy
  • Allergic conjunctivitis

Dosing :

Available as 2%/5 ml ophthalmic drops, 5 mg/1 MDI, 10 mg/2 ml respules,
20 mg/1 rotacap
Inhaler:
4 times daily.
Intra nasal:
1 spray 2-4 times daily.
Oral:
<14 years-100 mg and >14 years:
200 mg/dose 4 times daily; Increased if required to 40 mg/kg and then reduced according to response.

Adverse Effect :

Headache, ocular burning, irritation and stinging, unpleasant taste, nasal congestion, photophobia.


Hepatic Dose :

Oral formulation: Dosage reduction may be required, but no dosage recommendations are available.
Inhalation and Ophthalmic formulation: No dosage adjustments are recommended.
