Acetasol

Synonym :

Acetic acid


Indication :

  • Superficial infections of the external auditory canal (Otitis externa)

Dosing :

Insert a wick saturated with the solution into the ear canal for at least 24 hours. Keep it moist by adding 3 to 5 drops of the solution every 4 to 6 hours. Remove wick after 24 hours. Instil 5 drops of acetic acid otic solution 3 or 4 times daily thereafter, for as long as indicated. (Safety and efficacy of the use of acetasol in children less than 3 years of age has not been established.)

Interaction :

There are no significant drug interactions with acetasol however caution must be taken when using multiple medicines.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
