Abatacept


Indication :

  • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Dosing :

>2 years:
10 to 24 kg: 50 mg SC once weekly.
25 to 49 kg: 87.5 mg SC once weekly.
50 kg and above: 125 mg SC once weekly.
In children >6 years can also be given IV: 10 mg/kg over 30 mins followed by repeat dose
2 and 4 weeks after initial dose. Then give once in 4 weeks.

Adverse Effect :

Headache, URI, nausea, infections, back pain, hypertension, rash, body pain, hypersensitivity.


Renal Dose :

Dose in Renal Impairment GFR (mL/min)
20-50Dose as in normal renal function
10-20Dose as in normal renal function. Use with caution
<10Dose as in normal renal function. Use with caution

Dose in Patients undergoing Renal Replacement Therapies
CAPDUnlikely to be dialysed. Dose as in GFR<10 mL/min
HDUnlikely to be dialysed. Dose as in GFR<10 mL/min
HDF/High fluxUnlikely to be dialysed. Dose as in GFR<10 mL/min
CAV/VVHDUnlikely to be dialysed. Dose as in GFR=10–20 mL/min

Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
