Question
My daughter is 6, she was diagnosed with RTA at 14 months old. At 3 1/2 she developed pubic hair and body odor. Now, she has even more pubic hair, acne, and body odor. Also, she has a cafe au lait spot on her back, but this one is different than most, hers is whitish in color instead of brown. She has been diagnosed with precocious puberty, obviously. However, I think there might be more to it. Just wanting your opinion.
Answer
Since she has premature pubic hair (called as pubic adrenarche) and also acidosis, one should rule out congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Consult a pediatric endocrinologist for the same.
