Question
Doctors, My son who is 4 months old is on S-26 formula since he was born as i was unable to breast feed him.He has been vomiting all day long since then.Sometimes it is dribbles, sometimes it is curdled, sometimes its right out after he drinks it.He weighs 7.5kgs and is very active, never cries, sleeps well.I have been told to ignore the vomiting,.but it bothers me since there is no 10 minutes in a day where he isn't vomiting and is always throwing up.kindly advice. Thank you
Answer
Since your son is growing well and putting on adequate weight (7.5 kgs at 4 months is good), one need not worry much. Also this is not vomiting rather it is regurgitation of milk. You need to ensure that he burps well after each meal. Also one can do a GER study (gastroesophageal study ) to look for reflux. If present, give him thickened feeds to decrease the incidence of regurgitation. He may require intervention only if he loses weight or has episodes of pneumonia.
