Question
My daughter is 3 yrs old and weighs 12 kgs. Her weight is same for the last 1 yr. She is otherwise very active but looks very lean and thin and all her bones show. She does not have craving for any type of food. She does not like to have anything after 4th or 5th spoon. Nor she likes juice or milk. Her birth weight was 2.96 kgs. I'm worried. Please suggest.
Answer
12kg for a 3 year old is not very less. Till the time she is putting on height and very active and playful and she is not losing weight, one should not worry. If her height does not grow, then it is time to get an evaluation. Some children may have a genetic constitution whereby they may be thin but grow in height.
