Question
My son is 5 and half months old. When he was 1 month old we noticed his scrotum is big then the doctor told that some water is there, they will wait. Now the doctor after examining told us he is not having testis on his right side, or it might come down after few months. I want to know that if he does not have one testis. God forbid will it effect later. Please clarify. I am worried
Answer
Your child could be having an "Undescended testis". Read the article on "UNDESCENDED TESTIS" on www.pediatriconcall.com or from the link given below:

Regarding the water in the scrtoum, it could be suggestive of an hydrocele. Consult a pediatric surgeon about the undescended testis and whether it needs to be operated.
