Specialist Answers
Question
My 3 year old son has suddenly started stammering. It was almost overnight development. Now sometimes he stammers so much that he can not speak the same words which he would speak very well previously. What could be the reason for this? The doctor checked him and told that there does not seem any neurological reason. What type of specialist do I take him now? What should be our next steps? Thanking you for your advice.
Answer
It looks like your child has a very terrifying experience such as some nightmare. He needs time to open up with lot of love and cajoling to find out what is bothering him. If still he does not improve, a visit to a speech therapist would be useful.
