Question
Is it possible for an adoptive mother who has never been pregnant to nurse her adopted baby?
Answer
Yes it has been rarely possible for a non lactating mother to breast feed a child. This is known as NON NUTRITIVE SUCKING (NNS). This is done by taking the baby to the breast and letting him suck even if the milk does not come. Soon and gradually due to sucking, the milk production may start.
