Question
I have a baby girl, she is now nearly 2 years old. The problem is she has hair on her arms , shoulders & face. I wonder is it normal & isn't it a bit soon? Moreover will it be by time thicker & heavier?
Answer
A little bit of hair is normal and should not be a cause of worry. It is normally seen in girls However, if the hair is increasing, becoming thicker or coming up in other places then, she would need evaluation for her hirsutism (increased body hair). This could be due to some cysts in the ovaries or hyper functioning of the adrenal glands.
