Question
Hi. I got a daughter who is going to be 1 year old this month. My problem is on her feeding. Even though she is 1 year old she refuses to take solid foods. And her milk intake also is less when considering to kids taking at her age. I have to feed her cereals through bottle since she refuse to eat it. She will take one or two spoons after that refuse solid food. Her weight is also less. When she was born she was 2.75 kg and at this 1 year she only weigh 8.2kg. Is it normal? She is too active .Started talking, walking with support. All things are fine except her eating .Kindly give me some suggestions on her feeding. Thank you.
Answer
The weight of your child is in the lower normal range. Till she is active and playful, there is no need to worry about the same. Regarding the feeding, try giving her food first when she is hungry rather than the bottle. If she does not eat, do not force her but also do not give up and give the bottle. Once she realizes that she is not going to get the bottle, she will automatically start eating food. It is especially difficult to deal with a fussy eater but better late than never.
