Question
My daughter is 16 months old. She sucks her thumb during night and few times during daytime. She has few teeth now and because of that, she has a cut on her thumb. We are worried about it. Is this habit going to continue further or is she is going to stop it? What can we do to stop it? Please let me know.

Please read the article on "DENTAL TREATMENT IN CHILDREN" on www.pediatriconcall.com or from the link given below:

Most of the time children outgrow this condition by 2 years of age. However, prolonged sucking may produce call us on the thumb and also malalignment of the teeth. Thumb sucking is sort of an emotional pacifier in small children. Just giving extra love and care may make the child give up this habit.
