Question
We are doing a 24 hour urine test on our 10 year old daughter. Is there a normal range of urine collection in ml that we should see? Or expect? What is considered normal amount or urine output? Thank you so much.
Answer
24 hour urine collection test is done to find out about various parameters in the urine such as calcium, albumin etc. It is not used to detect the amount of urine passed in a day. These parameters are then verified with a normal standard to detect specific problems in the kidney which in your daughter's case would be the evaluation of her high blood pressure.
