Question
How much should be the calorie consumption per KG in children with CRF WHAT IS THE PROTEIN REQUIREMENT ACCORDING TO GFR?
Answer
The caloric requirement would definitely be higher (about 1.2-1.5 times)than the maintenance for that age. The protein requirement would be around 20% less than that recommended for that particular age i.e. in infants it would be about 1.5gm/kg/day and in adolescents about 0.8gm/kg/day.
