Question
I have a 2 1/2 Yr. old boy who has been potty trained for about 4 months now (peeing) but every day still has a bowel movement in his diaper/pull-up during his nap and at night. We have told him to tell us if he has to go and take him to the bathroom before his nap and before bed but to no avail. He has had bowel movements in the toilet but not regularly. Can you help us?
Answer
Please read the article on "TOILET TRAINING" on www.pediatriconcall.com or from the link given below:

It seems that your child still is not having the sensation to pass stools as he seems to pass it in his sleep. However, if you find that he passes stools at a particular time (which most 2 1/2 year old's have a fixed bowel pattern), you can take him to the toilet bowl at that time and put him on the seat till he gets the motion. Once he realizes that, the training would be easier.
