Question
Sir I'd like to know about how to approach partially treated bacterial meningitis and management.
Answer
Partially treated bacterial meningitis is often confused with Viral meningitis and TBM as the CSF picture is like one of them. The best way to deal with it would be to start antibiotics such as third generation cephalosporins and repeat a CSF after 48 hours. If there is no response, it would rule more in favor of TBM or viral meningitis.
