Question
My son has Hypospadias and has now had three operations to try and rectify the problem and on each occasion it has failed. Could you please advise on the success rate and whether this is acceptable. He is now three years old and this is starting to cause some distress. Will it ever be fixed? Or should I make a formal complaint to the hospital concerned.
Answer
This may be a condition known as hypospadiasis. You must consult a pediatric surgeon to rectify this condition and in such a situation, circumcision is best avoided as the foreskin may be useful later for correction of hypospadiasis.
