Dear sir My 7 months old daughter echo report is --complete A V canal defect (VSD)+ASD+severe pulmonary stenosis with infundibular stenosis +hypoplastic pulmonary annulus+normal biventricular function. She is also having down syndrome. She is diagnosed as TOFF with AV CANAL type VSD.I want to know when there is no over riding of aorta why she is labels as TOFF.As I know TOFF has 4 component SUNDEEP
Answer
Normally in TOF the VSD is perimembranous, however in this case the VSD is inlet / AV canal type with overriding of aorta. These may not be mentioned on the report. But the overall physiology is like TOF physiology with AV canal.
