Question
My baby is 1 month old. We have difficulty burping her after her feeds. After trying for about 1/2 hour burping her without success, we'd put her down. After a while of tossing around, she throws out. Sometimes she throws out a few times or sometimes even through her nose. At times it seems that she is throwing out her entire feed. Is there any concern? And how can we burp her to relief her?
Answer
If you are baby is putting on weight it means that the feed is enough for her and one should not worry if she throws up a little.
For burping, 20 minutes should be more than enough. If she still does not burp, one can put her down and make her lie on the right side so that the air can come out even while she is lying down. Do not put her supine or prone after feed preferably.
