Question
My 3 1/2 yr. daughter has had cold symptoms for 10 days, fever of 104 - 105 off and on, and now for 3 days straight. She is acting mostly normal. This is the 4th similar illness in 2 1/2 months. Is there an underlying problem other than sinusitus or viral infection the doctors might be missing? I am very concerned. All my friends with children say this isn't normal.
Answer
Since she has cold initially and now fever, it may have been a viral infection initially which has now got super infected by a bacterial infection. You need to show to a doctor and if required she may require antibiotics. Also since she has had these infections once too often, one should rule out chronic sinusitis, tonsillitis or even adenoids.
