Is it necessary to use antibiotics for treatment of cold (baby of 6 months) In what conditions it is advisable?
Answer
Antibiotics would be required only in child with a bacterial infection. Most of the times, cold in a child is due to a virus and does not require antibiotics. Only if the child has persistent fever, yellowish nasal discharge and the doctor finds signs of bacterial infection is the antibiotics required.
