Question
Sir, is there any chance of sperm activity in an surgically corrected cryptorchidism corrected at the age of 17? What are the ways one can be a father other than adoption? Thank you.
Answer
It is very unlikely for an undescended testis to function if operated at 17 years of age. In fact, it would be better to remove the testis and put a prosthesis for cosmetic effect as that testis may be prone to cancer later in life. If the other testis is normal, infertility should not be an issue.
