Question
My son has TSC with delayed puberty. Now that it’s started, he has developed scoliosis. We first learned of this in March and now, five months later, he has begun to wear a brace in hopes of it not getting any worse. He is sixteen. Is this a possibility I've not heard of before? MRI showed no tumors causing the curvature. Is there anyone else with this type of situation?
Answer
There is an association seen with scoliosis and tuberous sclerosis with no spinal tubers seen. Thus there are increased chances of spinal curvature in patients with TS.
