Question
My wife got aborted in 12 weeks, then doctor did the Torch IGM test, the result of the test is given below : TOXOPLASMA IGM : 0.48 NEGATIVE RUBELLA IGM : 0.31 NEGATIVE CMV IGM : 0.36 NEGATIVE HSV (1+2) IGM : 0.33 NEGATIVE ARE THESE RESULTS ARE OK, HOW TO AVOID THESE TYPE OF INFECTION. PLEASE ADVICE. THANKS
Answer
Since all the IgM are negative, it means she had no recent infection with these germs. However to know whether she is immune to these diseases or she can get them in the future, IgG levels of all may be required. If negative, you can take the rubella vaccine. For toxoplasma, avoid contact with cats and herpes usually spreads by sexual contact.
