Question
I am an rh negative mother. My question is this. Is it possible that the rh factor or the shots given during pregnancy could render a DNA test negative, even if the you know it to positive? I ask this question because after my son was born and his father and I separated we had to go through the testing. He was excluded after 2 tests. I know how I was with and yet the test says no. On top of it, my son looks just like his uncle, (the father's brother). The spitting image. So were does it leave me as far as child support. No where! Any info you can offer is appreciated.
Answer
No the Rh immunoglobulin does not change the DNA. Regarding the parental issue, you could have the DNA test repeated from a reliable laboratory.
