I am thirteen weeks pregnant. I have sinus congestion and a sore throat. I would like to avoid taking antibiotics if possible, but I am concerned that an infection could hurt the fetus. What should I do?
Answer
Consult a doctor to determine whether it is viral or a bacterial infection. If it is a viral infection, no antibiotics are required and only decongestants may be required. If bacterial antibiotics under your doctor's guidance will be required. Avoid drugs such as nimesulide for fever. Back to All Questions
