Question Category : Vomiting
My eight week old grandson has started vomiting with no other symptoms. When should one be concerned or when should he be taken to the doctor? What causes this, if there is no fever or unusual crankiness?
Question Category : Vomiting
My 3 and a half year old has developed a smell and gag reflex to most foods. There are limited things he will eat. We were told he will not starve himself but we fear his stomach has shrunk. We don`t know what to do. We have been told it`s only a phase but now its 2 and a half years and it is not getting better. Could you please advise us or refer us somewhere that we may find some useful help to solving this problem? Thank you. Wade + Tammy Boose.

Sometimes it is just spontaneous. What could be the cause of this? Laura S.

Hi,I have a baby now at 6 1/2 months' old. But he always vomit milk, most of the time is little. But some times can be a lot as in maybe whatever just consume (he is currently taking 5-6oz every 4 hourly) and it happens once every few days. When he was 2 months' old, paed. said it was due to colic. But he still has this even now. Can a baby at 6+ months still have colic problem? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Question Category : Vomiting
Hi-I have a 1 1/2 year old daughter. For the past week she has been vomiting at bedtime. She usually is a fairly good sleeper and bedtime has not been an issue. Her schedule has been 7-7:30pm bedtime, up around 6-6:30am, with a nap from 1-3pm. She eats dinner around 5pm and has a whole milk bottle at the end of our bedtime routine (bath, books, bottle, bed). She is not running a fever and eats/drinks (water is always available to her) during the day. I have had trouble getting her to nap this week as well (only once in the last six days, we have had a quiet time instead). I know by bedtime she is exhausted. Her daytime behavior is normal, happy and playful, until late afternoon (then more cranky). The first few nights I thought she had just gotten so worked up that she vomited, but for the last few nights I have sat next to her crib to comfort her (no crying involved and she still vomits). Her stools have been less frequent( once a day instead of twice, hard-pellet like). Help! I hate to see her so unhappy and feeling ill. I'm at a loss. Could it be an allergy? Behavior issue? Thank you-a mom covered in puke.
Question Category : Vomiting
My 2 year old child was recently hospitalized for vomiting and dehydration. After being released, he has been vomiting once every 24 hrs between the hours of 1 & 3 a.m. We have been in contact with his pediatrician every two to three days about this. His appetite has declined but his energy and mood are normal. They prescribed Zantac once daily and this has been happening for a week now. What could this problem be and what should we do about it?

Question Category : Vomiting
My 1 yr. old son was operated for pyloric stensis when he was 3 months. of age. After the surgery, he gained weight and is now around 9 kgs. He is quite active and naughty by nature. However, he is able to take only liquids / semi solids foods easily even now. I mean, milk, ceralac, juices, kanjis are easy to be fed but the moment, some solid is tried to be fed, he gets a strong vomiting sensation and brings the entire thing out. He shows an interest in eating chaklis, chapatis, eatables etc. but is not able to because as soon as the food touches the throat, he coughs and brings it out. So I have to grind the rice with a little bhaji in a mixer and when this food is fed, he is able to take it easily without any vomiting sensation. He also recurrently gets cough & cold. I am a little worried as to whether there is any problem with his system / throat. Pl. answer doctor, as to when he'll start taking solids like other children of his age. Kindly advise.
