Question Category : UTI
I have an 8 year old daughter who still wet's at night. We have tried the standard things, I.E. nothing to drink after a certain time. Bladder stretching exer and such. She has now started to have U.T. infections and we suspect that wearing pull ups are the cause. What can be done??????????
Question Category : UTI
My daughter was diagnosed with kidney infection when she was 23 months. She had no symptoms, just sudden pain before she had to pass urine and Lots of blood in her urine. She had a scan done and the kidneys are fine, the infection seemed to have been in the bladder. She is on antibiotics for the last 6 months; she is still waiting for further tests to be done. Every time I stop the antibiotics the infection reoccurs. I am really worried about her. What should I do? Doctors don't help, they are telling me to wait for further test to be done?!?

My daughter is 1 year 8 months. During the last six months, she has had 3 recurring instances of UTI. For the first one year of her birth, no such incident was observed. But it is happening now. First there was rash and reddishness and itching of her valva (vagina) for which we applied Conundrum ointment, though a little irregularly. Then, during the first attack in January this year, she developed sudden fever and just by trial and error, an urine test was done. Urine culture revealed presence of E. Coli for which she took 5 days of antibiotic, Norfluxocin. After, 15 days, again there was infection and she was administered Amoxillin for 14 days. Again after 15 days, she developed infection and this time, the bacteria was different. She was administered Cefixime for 10 days. Now, again she has developed infection with traces of albumin in the urine. She is otherwise very active and a big girl for her age. All sanitary precautions have been taken. What do I do? How serious is it?
Question Category : UTI
For the past week, my three year old daughter has a constant need to urinate. She goes to the "potty" at her request honestly every minute or two. She has been potty trained since November but still wears a pull up to bed at night and for naps. Lately, before going to sleep, she needs to change her pull up every 30 seconds or so after she says she's tinkled in it. When she urinates, it is merely a trickle because she goes so often. We did take her pacifier away recently which is the only big change for her as of late. She was only using the pacifier in her bed and in the car seat. This need to urinate affects every part of our day. I did have her urine tested and the results came back clear. Any suggestions?
