Question Category : Obesity
My 10 year old daughter went for a check up for weight gain. 37pounds in 10months. She is 5' and weighs 167. I can't explain the weight as we are very active and although her diet isn't perfect, we are very conscious about our food intake. Her pressure in her right arm was 170/65 while pressure in left arm was 150/60. She was diagnosed at 5 with an anxiety disorder and I know that going to the dr. brings on tremendous stress. How do I know i if this is an accurate reading of high blood pressure, or just brought on by stress? How high should it be, considering the white coat stress. Should we continue on with further tests? Dr. wants a chest x/ray and echo. We did an ekg in office which was normal. Please help
Question Category : Obesity
I have an 8 year old, whom I have taken to the doctor at least 4 times in the past year because I am concerned about her weight but her doctor only took blood tests and said she is a little thick but that is all. He ever says and now she is starting to sneak her food. I am very concerned. She is 8 years old and she must be atleast 100lbs what can I do or where do I go?
Question Category : Obesity
My 13 month old has been in the 90-95th percentile for weight ever since he was born and 75-90 for height - he is a big boy! His Dr. recommended that he be on 2% milk instead of whole milk (he drinks a lot of milk). I know that fat is important at this age and I trust my Dr. - I was just wondering what your thoughts were.
