HI, I am a government employee and I have a kid (3 yrs old). His growth rate is too slow; we have discussed with various Dr's but we are not satisfied with the current line of treatment. Dr's told us it is due to Micro cafeli (I don't know spells.) please suggest some line of treatment and can it improve by "Yoga" and all. I hope I will get proper suggestions from your side. I know about nuerofibromatosis, my mother has the second stage, and my 23yr old brother has the first. Is it safe for me to have children in the future? Since it is genetic I wonder if I have the gene but I don't actually have nuerofibromatasis.Is there any hope that I would not pass this disease on to my future children? The first of the 4 boys was badly deformed, he died before one year of age. All 4 boys apparently became severely retarded once they stopped nursing. Two lived to be over the age of 6; one died at 8 and one lived to be 12. They just lost motor functions, never did talk, just more or less vegetated. Also, all 4 boys were pale, pale hair, pale eyes too, I think. A sister of the mother gave birth to a terribly deformed boy; no other history thus far of boys dying like these 4 did. I have a family mystery that has haunted us for 3 generations. My late Uncle's first family consisted of 4 boys and one girl. She was the firstborn, and normal. ALL 4 boys vegetated and died, the oldest living to be about 12. He and one other child did eventually walk a bit, but all were quickly diagnosed as abnormal once they stopped nursing. The ethnic background was from Norway. The first boy was also deformed. I looked at Storage illnesses, and anything carried only by mothers...but nothing I have researched fits. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what killed all my cousins? He later married again and had a normal boy and girl. Thank you! Check Out the Answer

My great nephew, who is now 5 months has trouble at times focusing with his eyes. His eyes quiver at times. Prior to birth, an early blood test indicated a possibility of down syndrome or spinal bifida. His birth was premature (about 5-6 weeks)because of detoriation of placenta he was delivered early by c-section. The doctor indicated that the problems suspected in pre birth blood tests weren't correct. He now weighs about 17 lbs. His head is shaped a little unusual, but it's his eyes that don't seem right to me. What could be the problem? His parents don't want to acknowledge that anything is wrong, but my sister and I know something isn't normal. ? Check Out the Answer

Hi, My 6 yr old daughter just got diagnosed w/Turners Syndrome. I am beside myself - crying, feeling depressed. She hasn't had any further testing, so we are praying that her only symptom is her short stature. I am looking for a support group. So far, I have surfed the web, but the ones I have found all want you to pay a lot of money to become a part of their group. Do you know of any reputable support groups for Turners kids and parents?
