Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
Mr. 6 yr old son has had an enlarged lymph node on and off since he was 5. I was told this was nothing to worry about as he had heaps of energy and was not unwell. However when he was off color I did notice this node to be more prominent. I have now noticed this node to be swollen all the time now have blood tests for him next week. What will they be looking for doing U/E, liver function and full blood count? How serious can this be?
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
I am 14year old male with recurrent, painful, swollen abdominal lymph nodes. Tends to occur with skin infection (acne, blocked pore), currently no skin infection. Previous history 7 mo concussion, periodic headaches, periodic blurred vision. Concern is the recurring lymph nodes where pain is felt upon palpating and with lifting of leg. Child is 6' and 135 lbs, very active (bicycle racer) - am I over-reacting is this somewhat normal for males at this age?
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
My daughter is 15 months old. She has 2 lymph nodes in her right groin area that have become enlarged. My pediatrician said it was nothing to worry about because there were lymph nodes that were symmetrical (on her left groin area). However, those are not enlarged. Should I get a second opinion?
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
My 5 year old son has a knot a little larger than a marble on the size of his neck. It doesn't seem to bother him and hasn't complained about it. He is very active. I took him in for a physical for school and they told me probably just swollen lymph node. That has been about 6 weeks ago and it is still there. Should I get some antibiotics? He does seem to have a persistent cold though.
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
Daughter has had swollen lymph nodes under her ears, has taken antibiotics (zathura).Suppose to wait for 1 month to see if lymph nodes are normal. Her doctor is off today and I am really worried about the fact her nodes are still swollen, one has slightly increased in size. What kind of blood tests will her doctor want to do? Should I want a biopsy done ASAP or not? Can having a cat cause this? VERY WORRIED!
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
My daughter has prominent lymph nodes all over her body. They don't seem to be enlarged, but you can definitely feel them by running your finger over her neck or under her arms. We had some blood test done and everything came back normal. My question is, is it normal for a child to have prominent lymph nodes without any problems? I am just a bit apprehensive that something is being over looked.

Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
My 6 year old daughter has had one cervical lymph node enlarged >1yr. She has now developed an enlarged cervical node on the other side of her neck and subsequent growth of the existing node since she developed strep throat 2 months ago. She was successfully treated with antibiotics and recovered, but her tonsils are grossly edematous and her lymph nodes remain enlarged. What are the possible causes?
Question Category : Enlarged Lymphnodes
I took my 2 mo. old son to the doctor because his lymph nodes have been swollen for the past 7 weeks despite the fact that he was placed on medication when he was 4 weeks old. The answer I was given I am very unsure of. I was told that the original cause of the swelling was and would always be unknown but that him having cradle cap us causing to remain swollen. He does have a very light case of cradle cap, but could this cause 5 lymph nodes to be so swollen that you can see them? Do you feel like I should take his to a different doctor just to make sure because no lab or any other test was done to reach this answer?
