Question Category : Emotional Problems
My son is nearly 5 and in pre-school. We both work full time and he is an only child. He was in full-time nursery since 3 months of age. His teacher says he is very bright and quicker at picking things up than the other kids. He is very loving and sensitive, but his behaviour sometimes reduces me to tears. He has temper tantrums and sometimes hurts other children by kicking, shoving etc. He behaves badly when he doesn't win or get his own way. His family background is settled and he doesn't want for anything. He is disciplined by telling off/reasoning/taking away treats or toys/early to bed. We give plenty of praise for good behaviour. What else can we try?

I have two girls aged 2 years, 7 months and 7 months. My problem is the elder's jealousy. Not only does she stammer, but talks in her sleep that "she is my mommy not yours!". In Your opinion what is the best way to handle this situation? By giving in to her whims (wanting the bottle or wanting to ride in the walker etc. Or being firm and telling her she is too old for these things? Thank you for your time

Question Category : Emotional Problems
My child is 1.5 years old. He does not eat properly and instead always insists on milk. He throws tantrums for very small things. He always wakes up crying. However, physically he seems to be active. If it's not a medical problem then how should we deal with it?

I am going through a separation with my husband, who has the interim custody of my 8 yr old son. I would like to know how to deal with my child, who meets me only for a few hours in a week and is constantly being brainwashed by his father to not keep any contact with me. I do not want to put any further pressure on the child. But in the process I am losing my son.

Is it "normal" for a 3 year old, who understands what a parent or grandparent says, to constantly do the opposite of what she is told to do, or not to do it at all?
Question Category : Emotional Problems
My 3 year old son has suddenly started stammering. It was almost overnight development. Now sometimes he stammers so much that he can not speak the same words which he would speak very well previously. What could be the reason for this? The doctor checked him and told that there does not seem any neurological reason. What type of specialist do I take him now? What should be our next steps? Thanking you for your advice.
Question Category : Emotional Problems
My 8 yr old daughter has recently pulled out her hair so much that she has a bald spot larger than a quarter on her head. Prior to this she pulled out her eyelashes. She said that she pulled out her hair to avoid pulling out her eyelashes. It seems to be some type of nervous habit but I don't know what to do about it. There is nothing major going on that would cause such unusual behavior.
