STUTTERING IN CHILDREN
What is stuttering?
Stuttering is a common speech problem seen in children. It affects the fluency of speech and children are unable to pronounce words properly.

How does it affect children?

Most of the times there is problem in rhythm of speech, in which the person knows, what he or she wishes to say, but at the same time may have difficulty saying it.

What is the cause of stuttering?

There are many known and unknown causes of stuttering. One must rule out behavioral disorders and psychological Problems in Children.

Is stuttering a problem?
Mostly there is cause for concern if a child speaks with five or more breaks per 100 words. Psychological and emotional issues must be noticed and treated.

What is the treatment of stuttering?
If child suffers from mild stuttering then strong self limited observation is required where he is corrected every time he stutters. If child is having more severe stuttering then speech therapy may be required. Sometimes psychological counseling may also be required. Early diagnosis and treatment can cure the problem in shorter time period.
