Question Category : Vitamins and Minerals
Dear sir, In the developing countries like India prevalence of nutritional anemia is higher in preschool age group. one of the study done in India suggest pure iron deficiency prevalence rate was 41.4 % and Vitamin B12 deficiency alone or in combination with iron deficiency was 14.4 and 22.2 %. There are lots of hemetenic in the market. Many hemetinic also contains vitamins and minerals. If we think academically to have a hemetinic containing Ferrous salt, folic acid and vitamin B12 to take care of anemia as well as prophylactic use in children between 6 months to 3 years. Sir I would like to have the information regarding dosage in 6 months to 3 years of age of children of each ingredient in prophylactic as well as therapeutic dosage. please mention total daily dosage of elemental iron, folic acid , vitamin B12 with quoted references. Waiting for your kind reply. with regards, Dr. Kamlesh Patel.
