Question
Dear sir, I have 2 questions on fixed drug eruption(fde). 1- I have seen 3 members in the same family affected by (fde) is there any familial tendency? 2- Does it happen with single or multiple using of the drug?
Answer
There is a familial tendency to fixed drug reaction due to HLA predisposition. Initial exposure or treatment produces no adverse event
The reaction occurs a few days
after re-exposure.
