Question
A 2 & 1/2 year old female has 3 to 4 episodes of severe cough per day for 10 days. Each episode last for 1/2 hour. The patients rolls up her eyes due to severity of cough. Her TLC DLC WNL Mx-negative. X Ray shows prominent marking & streaking pattern around Bilateral Hilar region. No history of fever seen. Chest is clear. Patient is not responding to antibiotics7 other symptomatic drug, What could be the reason?
Answer
Rule out pertussoid cough. If the cough is dry in nature, a cough suppressant may be useful.
