I am from Pakistan, i had a baby boy three months ago. His Apgor score was 7. He didn't cry for 10-12 minutes. The Doctor suggested mild asphyxia? He was treated with Ferobasin injection & with antibiotics for 4 days. Now after 3 months physically he is well, but he is not cannot supporting his head & other body parts properly. And gives less response... as his age mates do. nowNow the Doctor has kept him on tab. di-hydan (phenytoin). I m worried about him. Please suggest me what should i do? Is this condition curable or not? If not what u suggest me about this?
Answer
Due to the asphyxia at birth, he may have suffered some amount of brain damage as a result of which his milestones are delayed.
