A 20 month old girl brought to emergency room with acute onset of generalized weakness followed by sudden decreased level of consciousness and apnea and after CPR she was sent to PICU in another hospital 2-3 hours later.She had received conservative treatment during last 5 days for chickenpox with:one dose intramuscular betamethasone,oral hydroxyzin,acetaminophen,amoxicillin After admission in PICU she developed gastrointestinal bleeding and gross hematuria.On lab tests she had prolonged PT&PTT,NL liver enzymes,gradually increase in BUN-Cr,gradually decrease in Plt&Hb. Lumbar puncture was done on 1st and 10th day of admission :the 1st one had 30 fresh RBC with NL protein and sugar & second one had NL glucose ,increased protein:76, 5 Lymphocytes,Xanthochromic. I wanted to know if such complications is reported with varicella zoster virus and if not what can be the Dx. THANKS A LOT.

Following cases need resolution could you please help.. 1.9 years old male child presented with steven johnson syndrome, he was on drug Carbazamapine(tegratol). TO, Respected sir/madam I had a patient aged 12 years with c/o fever 1 month back associated with vomiting for which he took treatment with local R.M.P. and some Ayurveda drugs, O/E typical cerebellar signs fundus - early papiledema, C.T.Brain - communicating hydrocephalus. Six year old female, underwent ureteral re implantation for vesicoureteral reflux 2 years ago. Repeat of surgery 1 year ago because of severe debilitating pain and frequent UTI's. All surgeries performed at Johns Hopkins. She continues to have severe pain with voiding and is currently hospitalized with UTI, vomiting, lethargy and pain.The GU MD at Hopkins has no further suggestions for control of pain. I have attempted to find a COMPREHENSIVE pediatric pain management program for her, with little success. The family lives in Virginia, near Manassas.Do you have any suggestions?
