Increase in CPK, LDH, HBDH, SGOT are characteristics of

muscular dystrophies

. Degree of elevation of muscle enzymes depend upon

-

type of dystrophy

(marginal rise is seen in facio - scapulo - humeral type),
- duration of the disease (decreasing enzymes are seen during late burnt out stage) &
- severity of the disease.
- In advanced DMD , creatinine is usually low.
