PATTERN OF MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Increase in C. P. K., L. D. H., H. B. D. H., S. G. O. T. are characteristics of muscular dystrophies. Degree of elevation of muscle enzymes depend upon

  1. type of dystrophy (marginal rise is seen in facio - scapulo - humeral type),

  2. duration of the disease (decreasing enzymes are seen during late burnt out stage) &

  3. severity of the disease. à In advanced DMD , creatinine is usually low.

L.D.H 40 - 110 IU / L     800
S.G.O.T. 7 - 24 IU / L     450
S.G.P.T. 4 - 25 IU / L     170
S. CREATININE 0.5 - 1.5 mg / dl 0.2
